Hi:
Thanks for response.
The link you quoted has this note for the OS requirements:

"Mac OS, Windows NT, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Vista 64 bits and Windows XP 64 bits are not supported. "

"You need to be online to prevent the program from crashing. "

Online?? You mean the minidisc player should be plugged into the USB port before starting SonicStage??

I did that but it crashed.

ArchiVision Directory said...

With "Online" I mean that you need to be connected to the Internet. If you are not connected to the Internet and you start Sonic Stage it sometimes get you an error about the music library and then it start to run the File Conversion Tool from Sonic Stage and after conforming it, the program shuts down. If you are connected to the Internet you will be able to open Sonic Stage without an error. It's an common error because the library sometimes need to be on the Internet to check it's license.

SonicStage CP Version 4.3 works fine on My Windows 7 (64 bit) computer. The information on that page is not up to date I guess. (see message of February 8, 2011 9:39 AM)

I've downloaded SonicStage CP 4.3 & the appropriate software for my Windows 7. After importing my music & plugging in my MZ-NE410, I can see what songs are on my old disks. When I put in a blank disk & transfer some sogs onto the disk, it first would show the songs as being transferred (even show up on the player's display screen) but the songs wouldn't play & them displays the disk is blank. Now I get an error message that it is unable to transfer the song that I selected. (I get this message on 2 different blank disks.) This has occurred with songs that are on my hard drive & also a CD.

Bob C, I still have the same problem. I can't believe Sony actually released SonicStage. It's mind boggling how bad it actually is. It's been 10 years since I first played around with it and now that I'm digging out my old MD's in hopes of some easy transfers to my HD, I'm brought back to my days of XP, yelling 'F**K YOU!' at the screen.

The fact that Sony left it's buyers in the dust with Windows 7 is a whole other issue.

I feel stupid, but I click on what appears to be the link (Download NetMD USB-Drivers for your Sony MiniDisc to work on Windows 7 64 bit (x64) or Vista 64 bit (x64) system), but nothing happens. Do I need to click on one of the surrounding blue or green download buttons? They seem to be just ads or phony links and not the actual download. I would love to get my Net MD working again.

Louis T said...

Help! I click on the link to download, but nothing happens... no download. Am I missing something, is the link no longer functional? How do I get the driver?

ArchiVision Directory said...

You need to click on 'NetMD MZ-RH1 and later (HiMD)'
to download the Zip-File. Or right click on it and save the file as.

Driver "NetMD MZ-RH1 and later (HiMD" worked perfectly on Sony NetMD MZ-N420D on Windows 7 Home Premium x64 bits. A big HI from Brazil.

Attention! The driver that downloaded under „NetMD-707" functioned not in the SONY MZ-RH1 because in the file" NETMD707.inf" the corresponding driver code ineffectually was made "as commentary lines"?!?. After corresponding manual correction of the „NETMD707.inf" the driver functions flawlessly!!!

Where do I click to download this driver?
Clicking on
Download NetMD USB-Drivers for your Sony MiniDisc to work on Windows 7 64 bit (x64) or Vista 64 bit (x64) system
does not work.

Louis T said...

Ok. So I downloaded the zip file. I open the zip file. It shows 4 files enclosed:
1. netmd760: a security file- clicking on this does not give me a driver.
2. netmd760.sys which is a system file but not a driver
3. netmdhr1: which says it is set-up info, but it seems to be info, but no driver I can click on
4. read me + supported models: again no driver I can click on
What am I missing. I consider myself moderately computer literate, but I can't find any downloadable driver. Aargh! Please help! This is my 3rd post and I keep trying all the suggestions. I am jealous of those who say this works great and want to know where they are finding their drivers.

Did you follow the guide to install the drivers?

Hello,

Thank you very much for this. I'm coming back to MD after a few years away. I got my first NetMD (MZ-N710) recorder a few weeks ago. This driver is saving me some time, even if my MZ-R50 helped also with its nice scroller. As of now, I just used SS to title some MDs. I'l give a try at the MP3 to MD functionnality. Though I must admit I actually like the real-time copy proces. I guess though the transferring process with SS might be based on USB 1... :) Quite slow too.
Thanks again.

Sony has discontinued SonicStage and I could not download it anywhere. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much
I was thinking in sending my MD to sony (inside a shit can).
All the best.

https://www.google.com/#q=SS43_ULTIMATE.exe

Anonymous said...

Just picked up a NetMD Walkman (MZ-NE410)... The drivers on this site are not enough to manage content on a NetMD device. You will need to search for "SS43_ULTIMATE.exe" - This is the complete/full installer of SonicStage 4.3.
(Working great with a Windows 7 x64 system.)
